Over the past year, she has submitted four proposals to the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) about such fields as industries, education, science and technology, and rural revitalization. During the conference, she provided 19 suggestions.
In recent years, golden tea has become an industry to enrich people in the local area. The local tea culture is also showcased through forms such as Miao drums and Miao songs renowned both domestically and internationally.
Last year, Teng Shujing submitted a proposal to include the “Baojing Huangjinzhai Ancient Tea Garden and Tea Culture System” in the global important agricultural cultural heritage list as an important agricultural cultural heritage item of China.
This proposal has received high attention from the National Committee of CPPCC and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has conducted two on-site investigations in Xiangxi Prefecture. So far, the application work has made rapid progress.
Teng Shujing said that she will further promote the coordinated development of tea culture, tea industry, and tea technology, and tell the story of various ethnic groups driving rural revitalization through tea in international languages.
“Only by developing education can we provide strong support for the construction of ethnic regions,” she said. As there is only one doctoral training center in the Wuling Mountain area, she hopes to create a new highland for talent development in the Wuling Mountain area by increasing the number of doctoral training centers, contributing to the realization of the beautiful blueprint of “three hubs and four new missions” as well as the construction and development of Xiangxi.
